Making headlines in AgTech

The top 500 companies in AgriFoodTech in 2024 revealed
Forward Fooding’s annual list of the top performing companies in the evolving agrifoodtech space has become a milestone event for ag innovators. Not only for its ranking of boundary-pushing companies, but also the accompanying white paper and retrospective industry pulse check. It’s well worth making a cuppa and settling in to review the shifting industry trends and (sobering) global funding shifts.
Australian Farm Institute: Navigating the Twilight Zone ($)
“Policy uncertainty in trade and climate action creates a risk-averse investment environment,” says the Australian Farm Institute’s Katie McRobert in their latest must-read think piece.
“These factors discourage long-term capital commitments in Australian agriculture and shape the way farmers plan their production cycles. By acknowledging the uncertainties and exploring diverse potential outcomes, we can learn how to build the agile agricultural systems which will be necessary in the coming decades,” Katie McRobert.

Lessons from the Trenches: Fundraising as an AgTech Startup
“Raising capital as an AgTech startup is a long and challenging journey,” writes Drone-Hand Founder and CEO, Edward Barraclough. “But investors are out there – if you’re willing to work the networks and prove your tenacity.” Barraclough’s generous tour through the ‘trenches’ of early-stage fundraising is a must-read for those at the start of their growth quest. He’s done the hard yards (and learned the hard lessons) for you.
