Hardware units are provided and continued to be owned by Precision Farming, and supplied as part of an annual subscription. The subscription value, ranging from several hundred dollars to many thousands of dollars a year, depends on number of modules selected and number of farms and their size.

Precision Farming is a Software as a Service (SaaS) product so is easy to set up remotely. Companies in the fertiliser sector could also be distributors.

Being a Software as a Service (SaaS) product, maintenance is done from our head office team of developers in Christchurch NZ.

Precision Farming subscribes to the farm data ownership principles of the New Zealand Farm Data Standards, which stipulates that original farm data belongs to the farmer, and Precision Farming can use only anonymised aggregated data for industry-good benefits.

Precision Farming’s sister company, Precision Tracking, provides agricultural contractors in New Zealand with a road user tax rebate service where agriculture vehicles operate off-road (i.e. on farms). Hence we are successfully subject to regular audit by the New Zealand government’s Road Transport Authority, demonstrating we maintain the highest standards of accuracy, security and permissioned access control.
